How we got here.
Lone Oak Plumbing started in 1998 with one truck, one Master Plumber, and a rule: quote it before you start, and don't leave until the customer is happy. That was Rafael Mendoza Sr., third-generation plumber, grandson of the man who plumbed half the East Austin homes built in the 1940s.
Today the company is run by Rafael Jr., who apprenticed under his father from age fourteen and got his Master license at twenty-three. We run seven trucks, fourteen licensed technicians, and a dispatch desk that never goes to voicemail. The rule hasn't changed.
We turn down bigger jobs when they don't fit — commercial new-construction contracts, franchise licensing offers, the private-equity acquisition pitch we get twice a year. What we do is licensed residential and light commercial work in Austin, done to code, by people you can call by name.
